Kal is obsessed with Superman at the moment, so this morning I told him I could fly & proceeded to do the levitation trick in front of him. Man, his eyes nearly popped out of his head as he started running round in circles getting all excited.
He asked if he could hold my hand while I flew (inspired by the flying sequence in the first Superman film, where supes flies around holding Lois Lane’s hand), but obviously that didn’t do anything, so he then wanted me to pick him up & do it, but I told him I can only fly when I hold my arms out straight. His enthusiasm didn’t wane a bit, & he was then trying to get me to go outside & fly around the garden, so I had to tell him I’d be late for work if I did that.
Anyway I was starting to enjoy his enthusiasm a bit, so I told him that when he goes to bed at night, I don my superhero costume & fly round the world helping people! That really did it, he could barely speak through the excitement, wanting me to go get my costume, put it on now, take him flying etc. In the end Dom told me to stop it, as we have enough trouble trying to persuade him that he can’t fly, without me encouraging him.
It’ll come back & haunt me one day though, I can see it now, he’s 25, in court & trying to persuade the judge that it all started when his Dad convinced him that he pulled on coloured tights & jumped out on unsuspecting criminals after the sun went down.

Saturday was a rush fest, involving lots of food shopping in the morning, an afternoon of curious Swedish birthday pagan rituals (involving a cross on a lawn, covered with flowers & lots of dancing around it). Then in the evening, Kor & Gravy visited with their partners to help demolish the food we purchased in the morning. A lovely time was had, & many many glasses of wine were consumed. I went to bed with a big old grin on my face & a belly full of chuckles. It’s nice to have chums around once in a while, even if it’s not as often as it should be.
Sunday was Dad’s day, which meant a much needed lie in first thing, followed by not much activity for the rest of the day. Dom & I were both feeling a little worse for wear but as it was my special day I got to go back to bed for a couple of hours in the afternoon. In the evening I sat down in front of my computer & did a wee bit of coding. I have this urge to write a port of StarRaiders for the RetroRemakes compo that’s on at the moment, but bearing in mind I don’t seem to be able to find the time to help out on a collaberative remake I’m doing with some mates, I suspect that this one is doomed to failure.

…& so far the loot includes a portfolio for keeping my art safe (examples to be posted soon), loads of anatomy books, & a couple of DS games; Animal Crossing & Tetris (but Kal’s taken those over already).
Having a nice relaxed day at work, then out for some quality nosh with Doms later.

Well I finally did something with that guysimmons.net I’ve had registered for an age 
Jeez this was all so easy to get running, last time I did anything like this it was all hand crafted html & NT Server nightmares, now it’s all web based administration & lovely installable PHP packages like this here wordpress.
“Welcome to the 90’s” as a good friend once said when I finally bought a mobile phone 😉
